GS222
I cracked into this piece of rough recently and it held some surprises. The rough was very hard chalcedony with chatoyany sprays of malachite and botryoidal bubbles of chrysocolla upwelling through the cryptocrystaline quartz. The chrysocolla was a dark blue-green. I was quite pleased after I cut it. When Ilooked at it the next day, the colour had changed into a celadon green - lighter and not as rich. Obviously, it was capable of absorbing water but it seems very hard and competent material. Very interesting!, |
